Appreciation for the Expansion of the Ontario Anti-Hate Security and Prevention Grant
The $25 million increase in funding is a necessary step towards helping a large number of cultural and faith based organizations across the province to beef up their facilities’ security against possibly hateful actors and crimes.
We also appreciate that the commitment expands the list of eligible community organizations that can apply, and the kinds of security related items that can be expensed.
These are all critical steps toward a province that takes the protection of its marginalized communities seriously.
Canada has seen steady increases in police reported hate crimes in recent years. The number of these crimes against Muslims ...
Support for Peace Building Motion
The ongoing violence that has afflicted Israel and Palestine in recent years has concerned so many in Canada for whom the Holy Land is of sacred importance.
The multiple violations of holy places in Jerusalem and the ongoing occupation of Palestinian territories have become of particular concern for many in Canada’s diverse and growing Muslim community.
This is why the recent motion to “conduct a study on the actions Canada should take to foster peace and respect for human rights and international law in the region” is so important.
Canada must prioritize its commitment to human rights in any international relationship, but ...
CANADA MUST ACT NOW – AL AQSA
Our communities have been warning for months about the risk of violence and human rights violations at the hands of a far-right Israeli government that has illegal settlement expansion as a core element of foreign policy.
Once again, Masjid Al Aqsa was attacked. Worshippers were brutally beaten, even as government ministers were calling for Israeli incursions onto the Temple Mount.
This is unacceptable.
Ask Canada to do two things urgently.
We need Canada to recognize the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court in this matter so that criminal violations of international law in the region can be appropriately investigated ...
Open Letter to the Prime Minister on The CRA Review
Dear Prime Minister Trudeau:
In the aftermath of the 2021 National Islamophobia Summit, we were heartened to see your commitment to ensure a review of the CRA’s auditing practices of Muslim charities. We warned, however, that the review would need to be comprehensive and that there would need to be transparency.
Unfortunately, we write to you today to suggest that the above review is inherently flawed.
We, the undersigned, representing Muslim-led organizations across the country, are writing to you today to express our concerns in light of the Taxpayers’ Ombudsman’s statement before the Senate Committee on Human ...

Send a letter thanking Jagmeet Singh and the NDP Caucus on their position on Palestine
We, along with many other allies, have been pushing for change so that we stand for human rights everywhere.
We are pleased to see our leaders listening.
Thank you Jagmeet Singh for taking a major step forward by with the NDP’s position on Israel and Palestine. Thank you for your consistent condemnation on illegal settlements, demolitions and plans of annexation, for demanding justice for slain journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, supporting the jurisdiction of the ICC, and for supporting Palestinian human rights groups. Now is the time for the rest of our leaders to step up, and heed the calls of the international community, by demanding justice for ...
Élections provinciales Québécoises 2022 / Quebec Election 2022
--English below--

Online Harms
Canada is now the leader among G-7 countries for Islamophobia related deaths in the past five years.
The social environment in our country has become more Islamophobic and toxic. Hate crimes spike again and again. Enough is enough, it’s time for real change.
We got here because hate is allowed to run rampant online.
It’s time for real and measured online harms regulations to reduce online hate.
We cannot allow content that openly incites violence against people and groups.
We need reasonable laws that mitigate this growing hate while protecting civil liberties.
We also need to amend Bill C-18 to make sure that tech giants ...
BJP Leadership and Ethnic Cleansing Measures in India
Click here to read our full policy brief.
NCCM is asking the Canadian government to ban officials from India who have called for racist and genocidal violence against Muslims and other minorities in India.
These 13 individuals, all members of India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), should be banned from entering Canada under Section 35 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. They are among the loudest voices calling for ethnic cleansing and violence against India’s minority Muslim population. Most are leading BJP figures. Their administration has recast India as built exclusively for Hindus, with minorities as second-cl...
