Canada Needs to Take IMMEDIATE Action Now
There is no question that war crimes are being committed in Gaza as we speak. Blockading basic necessities such as food, water and electricity are blatant human rights violations. Using white phosphorous as a weapon is a war crime. Collective punishment is a war crime. Children are being killed, hospitals are being bombed, journalists are being killed.
Sadly, we have also seen that as rhetoric escalates, and communities are made to bear the brunt of the backlash, it has real life consequences for Canadians.

Appreciation for the Expansion of the Ontario Anti-Hate Security and Prevention Grant
The $25 million increase in funding is a necessary step towards helping a large number of cultural and faith based organizations across the province to beef up their facilities’ security against possibly hateful actors and crimes.
We also appreciate that the commitment expands the list of eligible community organizations that can apply, and the kinds of security related items that can be expensed.

CANADA MUST ACT NOW – AL AQSA
Our communities have been warning for months about the risk of violence and human rights violations at the hands of a far-right Israeli government that has illegal settlement expansion as a core element of foreign policy.
Once again, Masjid Al Aqsa was attacked. Worshippers were brutally beaten, even as government ministers were calling for Israeli incursions onto the Temple Mount.
