ACTION ALERT: SIGN THIS LETTER CALLING ON CANADA TO DENOUNCE THE BANNING AND RAIDING OF PROMINENT PALESTINIAN HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANIZATIONS
Last year, the Israeli government declared six Palestinian civil society groups supported by the international community as terrorist organizations, prompting international outcry.
The United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, which partners with the NGOs, echoed criticisms raised around the world that the designations listed “extremely vague or irrelevant reasons, including entirely peaceful and legitimate activities”.
Our allies did not keep silent. Numerous elected officials in the United States and in Europe – too numerous to fully name – strongly indicated their anger and dismay over this decision by ...
Soliman v. Bordman
On October 21, 2021, Justice Perell of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice granted judgment to Walied Soliman who was targeted and defamed by Daniel Bordman with a number of false Islamophobic online publications, such as asserting that Mr. Soliman is an extremist or supporter of terrorist Islamic organizations. Justice Perell awarded Mr. Soliman, a well-respected lawyer and member of the Canadian Muslim community, $500,000 in damages for defamation and issued an injunction against Daniel Bordman. Mr. Soliman was represented by LaxOSullivan.

#WeAreIMO Food Drive: In Honour of Mohamed-Aslim Zafis
September 12, 2021 marks one year since Mohamed-Aslim Zafis was ruthlessly killed in front of the IMO Mosque in Toronto by an individual with apparent ties to a white supremacist group.
This year, we celebrate how Mohamed lived his life by honouring his dedication to helping those in need. Mohamed was a dedicated volunteer caretaker at the IMO mosque in Toronto. He was the familiar friendly face at the door to all those who visited the mosque and was known for his quiet dedication to helping others. Letter to the Prime Minister Regarding Human Rights Violations in Silwan
Demolitions have begun at Silwan by Israeli-state authorities even as numerous independent international agencies have called for forced evictions to end.
Silwan is a neighborhood in east Jerusalem adjacent to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, one of the most sacred places to Muslims internationally. It is estimated that 60% of the 1,500 Palestinian residents of Silwan in East Jerusalem who are about to be displaced by Israel are children.
The demolition of the neighbourhood of Silwan is in gross violation of international law.
Send a letter today at www.nccm.ca/silwan asking Prime Minister Trudeau and Minister Garneau to urge the Israeli government to ...

NCCM Recommendations: National Summit on Islamophobia
More Muslims have been killed in targeted hate-attacks in Canada than any other G-7 country in the past 5 years because of Islamophobia.
That fact sunk in outside the London Muslim Mosque on June 8 of this year, when thousands of Londoners gathered in the aftermath of the terror attack that took the lives of four members of the Canadian Muslim community in an unthinkable act of Islamophobic violence. The thousands that gathered that day were there to show their solidarity, pray, and stand with members of their community, as representatives of the London Muslim Mosque ...
