Send a Letter Telling the Prime Minister that we Need the Government to Commit to a National Survivors of Hate Support Fund

Urge the government to support victims of hate crimes

As we approach the National Day of Remembrance of the Quebec City Mosque Attack and Action Against Islamophobia, we remember.

We remember the victims and survivors and what many of their loved ones continue to go through. We remember the long and complicated journey to healing for those targeted by Islamophobia.

Today, we ask you to join us in urging the federal government to establish a National Support Fund for Victims of Hate-Motivated Crimes

Alongside coping with both physical and psychological trauma, survivors of hate-motivated crimes often find themselves facing significant financial expenses on the path to recovery. Many cannot afford to take steps toward recovery at all.

This is a major gap, as we have heard from many community leaders. Victims of hate are further made to bear financial burdens related to rehabilitation and recovery. The funding program should cover expenses incurred by survivors as a result of a hate-motivated incident or attack.

Send a letter today to urge Ottawa to support victims of hate crimes.
