This National Day of Remembrance of the Québec City Mosque Attack and Action Against Islamophobia, join us for a workshop discussing trauma-informed approaches to anti-Islamophobia work in an effort to cultivate a more inclusive and equitable classroom.
In light of the anniversary of the Quebec City Mosque Shooting on Jan 29th 2017, this session will explore how to engage in critical learning around events that impact the sense of safety and wellbeing for students, staff and families.
This workshop will provide an overview of Islamophobia and an exploration of some common myths about Islam and Muslims. Practical resources, case studies and recommendations will be shared to support efforts to promote equity and inclusion and to ensure schools and classrooms remain safe environments for all.
